Cataract Canyon - One Day  (CA0)

The Big Picture

Cataract Canyon whitewater

This one day whitewater rafting vacation is 100 miles on the famed Colorado River from Moab Utah to Lake Powell. The one-day Cataract Canyon raft, our Super J, is a special raft designed and built by Tag-A-Long Expeditions in 1999. New technology allows this powerful raft to cover flat water with the speed of a motorboat and yet run the rapids with the surity and excitement of a smaller raft. With this versatility, amazing sites, previously only seen on longer river rafting adventures, are available for you to explore.

Cataract Canyon offers 28 Grand Canyon style rapids. These are some of the most well known and respected white water rapids in the world; "Ben Hurt", "Powell's Pocket Watch", "Capsize", and the three spectacular rapids in the "Big Drop" series, the steepest section on the mighty Colorado River.

After the last of the white water rapids, we cross Lake Powell. In some months an inflatable kayak or paddle raft can also be added to the adventure.  This provides the opportunity to paddle some of the rapids in the canyon under the coaching of a Tag-A-Long guide.  Expect to add 2 additional hours to your trip for this experience.

One hundred miles in one day isn't for everybody, but you'll know if it has your name on it. An ultimate adventure on its own or as the finale of a hiking/4x4 trip in the Maze or Needles districts of Canyonlands Naitonal Park or self guided canoe trip.

Cataract Canyon river rafting trips in some instances may be substituted with the one day Westwater whitewater rafting trip. Tag-A-Long staff will explain.
