Colorado River Rafting
Cataract Canyon - One Day  (CA0)

The Details

Day 1 – Lunch
The Cataract Canyon rafting adventure begins at the Tag-A-Long office in Moab Utah at 7:00am. After a short, scenic ride to the Potash Boat Ramp downstream of Moab and a brief orientation, we launch! You will start the day on flat water enjoying the red rock cliffs and trying to spot eagles, hawks, bighorn sheep and mule deer. We point out locations of interest like petrified wood, ancient ruins, geologic wonders and historical sites. At noon we stop for lunch at a delightful spot just below the Confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers.

After lunch, a white water orientation is presented to let you know what to expect about rafting in Cataract Canyon. And then you're off pounding through the mountains and valleys of waves and red rock splendor occasionally dotted with wildlife.

After the last of the white water rapids, we quickly cross Lake Powell to Hite Marina. You must choose in advance a return option from Lake Powell to Moab or onwards to your next destination. Our favorite choice of returning to Moab is to board the Scenic Flight. The flight takes you up the Colorado River above the rapids just rafted in Cataract Canyon and over Canyonlands National Park before landing at the Canyonlands Airfield outside of Moab. Moab staff meet our rafting trips at the airfield, then transport visitors to town. Approximate time of arrival back to Moab with this option is 6:00 p.m.
