Trappers roamed this area in 1830s, beaver still can be seen living along the Green River's banks. This itinerary continues into the Robbers Roost territory where Butch Cassidy's gang learned every nook and cranny. Tag-A-Long staff share the stories of those outlaws and hike you to more historic Native American rock art panels. We return for a night in town to continue our deep wilderness immersion in the most remote part of Canyonlands National Park and some of America's premiere Native American rock art This trip is a long, slow journey through unforgettable country of the Robber's Roost territory where Butch Cassidy roamed. There is some very rugged 4X4 access, lots of hiking, up to 8 miles a day, and a wondrous jet boat ride up the Colorado River to conclude this amazing itinerary. · Very remote area · Moderate 4X4 roads · Optional hikes from 3 to 7 miles · Wilderness trails Fitness Level: Healthy, able to walk moderate up and down terrain. Walks are anywhere from a half mile to five miles. Half of the expedition is by 4X4 on rugged access roads. Half of the time is spent walking in the backcountry of Canyonlands National Park.
