Musical Raft Trip Benefit for the Moab Music Festival
The Big Picture
For music and nature lovers who have attended the Festival's Colorado River Benefit Concerts in the grotto and wondered what it would be like to continue down the river, this Colorado River raft trip with music is the opportunity. Our 4-day 3-night custom expedition combines rafting on the serene, flat-water sections of the Colorado River with outstanding chamber music concerts in extraordinary settings each day. Then, we "turn up the volume" with 1-day of rapids taking patrons through the exhilarating Class III and IV rapids of world-famous Cataract Canyon. One patron has called this raft adventure a "feast for all senses".

Leave your cell phone, laptop and Facebook status behind to embark on the 2010 Festival Musical Raft Trip, a Colorado River adventure featuring intimate concerts performed by world class musicians in unforgettable river settings. The trip is a 4-day, 3-night custom Colorado River adventure on motorized J-Rig Rafts outfitted by Tag-a-Long Expeditions. Extend the experience of music in concert with the landscape beginning with the launch of the Musical Raft Trip which includes that afternoon's exhilarating Grotto Concert. The raft trip continues down the Colorado River through pristine and ethereal canyons under the late summer blue sky. Cellist Matt Haimovitz, flutist & piper Christopher Layer, violinist Ayano Ninomiya and other musicians all join this trip and help to create the stirring soundtrack for this memorable experience by performing two additional concerts during the trip. A local naturalist also joins the expedition to lead a series of short, scenic hikes, as well as to provide insight into the history and spectacular geology of Canyon Country. A thrilling run through the whitewater rapids of Cataract Canyon and a once-in-a-lifetime scenic flight back to Moab from Hite Marina on Lake Powell conclude the 2009 Musical Raft Trip. Note: This trip is suitable for most people in general good health with a minimum level of fitness and agility. No outdoor experience is necessary. Camping gear (sleeping bag, pad and tent) will be provided. |
