The Big Picture
The Needles region of
Canyonlands National Park is
one of the most well-kept
secrets in America and
represents the very heart
and soul of the park. To
enter the really pristine
areas of the park, you must
either hike many miles or be
an accomplished
four-wheeler. Tag-A-Long
Expeditions removes these
boundaries by providing you
with 4WD drive
access. As soon as you enter
the Needles, you will see
the geology remain much the
same as other districts of canyonlands. Once you’ve
climbed over Elephant Hill
the geological namesake
commands the scenery. This
one-day expedition will be a
long day. We find you have
done some research about the
area when you consider a
trip over Elephant Hill. Our
office staff is standing by
to complete the arrangement
with you.
The Details
Your adventure begins
early this morning at Tag-A-Long’s
office where we’ll board
sturdy, air-conditioned 4WD
vehicles for our trek into Canyonlands National Park.
The drive to the park is
especially scenic, upon two
hours worth of pavement. We
can integrate many of our
Needles Archeology (ND0)
points of interest or spend
our time over the Hill
accessing the Joint Trail or
confluence overlook trails.
A trip over Elephant Hill is
arduous for a single day. We
certainly recommend our
longer itinerary (ND2). A
delicious lunch prepared and
served by your guide will
restore your energy before
we continue to meet your
vacation ideals as will be
worked out when we talk to
charter this day trip in the
Needles District of
Canyonlands National Park.
